Mother’s Day Bouquet

How to make a boutquet.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner (May 11th for those of you who may be forgetting)! So we wanted to prep you with a super simple Mother’s Day present from a mixed grocery store bouquet. Now, as someone who loves flowers, I would always shy away from these bouquets only because in the end, the recipient isn’t sure how to make it look just right. But, I understand people may be in a time (or money) crunch so here is a beautiful way to turn that blah bouquet into something you’re proud to give mom.

Supplies:

  • 1 mixed flower grocery store bouquet
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 1 piece of fun, beautiful patterned paper or tissue paper
  • 1 piece of ribbon

mother's day bouquet revamp - The Every Hostess

Here is the simple, pretty boring bouquet I got at Trader Joe’s. It was $5.99 and I loved that it had sunflowers. The first thing I did was unwrap, pull out all the flowers and clean them – get rid of leaves on stems (they just get messy) and any flowers that look bruised or damage from travel.

After that, pick up the flowers and arrange them while holding them in your hand, like a hand held bouquet. I started with one sunflower and one of the greens and built from there. Don’t feel confined to any shape – start placing them where it feels natural to you. Once you are finished, trim all the ends so they are the same length.

This little guy has a much bigger, beautiful impact then what we had originally. I then took a piece of brightly patterned paper that I picked up and wrapped the bouquet:

I then finished it off with a ribbon!

I hope this makes your Mother’s Day present have a little bit more love in it!
