My absolute favorite activity during the summer!

I have the fondest memories of growing up in Montana during the summers and going to the drive in! It was my absolute favorite thing we would do! We would bring tons of blankets and pillows and set it all up in the back of our car along with candy and popcorn! Unfortunately the drive-in movie theater closed down a few years back so we haven’t been able to do this in so long. This being my favorite summer activity and having all of our favorite people in Montana last summer for our wedding weekend, Jeremy and I set up a little movie night for all of our friends the night after our wedding. It was SO incredibly much fun and made my heart so full! We purchased this screen and set it up in a field outside of the lodge we were staying at along with lots of blankets and pillows! It was my all time favorite activity we did with out friends during our wedding weekend!

Although we don’t have access to the ranch in Montana every weekend for movie nights, this is just as easy to set up in our backyard too next to a Duraflame fire! I absolutely love how easy it is to start up a duraflame fire, especially in the backyard during the summer. I set up three logs to allow for a bigger fire during this movie night. This fire pit was perfect for a backyard fire too! To set up the perfect backyard movie night there are a few key things you need!

- Blankets and pillows! I recommend purchasing some inexpensive blankets you don’t mind laying on the ground or even a few picnic blankets! Make sure to avoid any muddy areas in your backyard so nothing stains. Pillows are a must so everyone can get extra comfy! I especially love these ones!
- Popcorn and candy are a must! Set out individual popcorns so each guest can grab their own to munch on. Im a hot tamales girl so that is my go to movie candy! Have an array or a few of your and your guests favorites out in little dishes.
- A signature cocktail! Need I say more?? My go to summer cocktail is sangria! It’s so easy to make and very refreshing on a warm evening! Check out my favorite sangria recipe below!
- Lastly, the perfect ambiance. Along with your duraflame fire, set out votive candles on trays to set a little mood. I also love hanging cafe lights in the backyard!
