I wish adults could trick-or-treat…
Just kidding! Kind of… haha. As I mentioned in my post on Monday, we now live in a neighborhood that will get a ton of trick-or-treaters this halloween (Ya’ll should see my neighbors house… no joke every day they add something new to their front lawn halloween decor!). I’m hosting an adult trick-or-treating party and I’ve invited a few girlfriends over for dinner, a spooky movie and to enjoy handing out candy with me. It’s going to be so fun to see the little ones all dressed up! Plus, what better way to spend the evening drinking wine, enjoying halloween candy ourselves and watching movies on Halloween.
Now, for those of you that will have trick-or-treaters at home and are hosting a party for the adults that will be at your house before the kids head out, this party is for you too! A simple set up, reserved candy for the adults and the perfect signature cocktail!

Hosting an adult Trick-or-Treating Party:
- First, set the mood with candles and low lighting in your house. If you are going to watch a movie this is especially important! I love these black candles to set the mood.
- Set out a snack board with your favorites charcuterie and cheeses – my easy go to when hosting. Since it’s a simple night, this cheese board should be filling enough! You can also serve other food or a full dinner too. But, if you are going out with the little ones that evening, a fully loaded charcuterie board is just enough!

3. Make the perfect signature cocktail – a Fall Old Fashioned.

A Fall Old Fashioned
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/2 orange slice
- 1/2 teaspoon grenadine syrup
- 5 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 1/2 ounces brandy
- 1 1/2 ounces apple cider
- ginger ale
- apple slices, cherries, or crystallized ginger, for garnish
DIRECTIONS
- Combine brown sugar, orange slice, grenadine, and bitters in an Old Fashioned (or similarly sized) glass. Muddle until brown sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Add a handful of ice cubes, then add the brandy and apple cider. Top off with ginger ale. Garnish with an apple slice and/or a skewer of brandied cherries and crystallized ginger if desired.

4. Have a reserved bowl of candy just for the adults to munch on! My favorites are Reeses, kit Kats and Swedish fish (I’ve already had to hid the bowl from myself!).
5. Lastly, for entertainment tarot cards make a fun activity for the evening!
