Easter lunch/ dinner has always been one of my favorite events to host in the spring. It’s so fun dressing the table up with a pastel color pallet full of flowers – the ultimate spring table setting! While this year we may not be able to celebrate Easter as we normally do, you can still host a cozy easter at home easily! Instead of your typical easter brunch, put together a late afternoon lunch / early dinner together – it’s still ok to serve all of your favorite brunch foods as well as some lunch items! This is your quarantine and you can spend it however you please. All you need are a few simple things to put together this cozy Easter at home.
Set the Scene:
Use what ever you have in your table setting stash! Those plain white plates I always mention as a staple paired with a fun and festive napkin are an easy way to dress up a table setting. Another idea is to order these gorgeous flower paper plates from Frances H. Designs – they make an easy way to add a little spring to your table setting, plus easy cleanup after brunch/dinner so it’s one less thing you have to stress about and you can enjoy your Easter day. Since we can’t go to the store to shop for easter table setting supplies ordering something new online is a great option!
On the Menu:
To pair with your favorite 90+Cellars wine these grocery store staples are an easy way to pick up something quick and delicious so you don’t have to spend much time in the store. Head to the bakery department and grab cinnamon rolls and easter cookies! If your store has any pre-made goodies (Whole Foods has a great selection), a quiche, sandwiches or pre-made salads, those are great things to grab to put this spread together. Put leftover fruit into little individual bowls – you can also top these with yogurt or whipped cream!
Don’t want to go to the store? I completely understand! Using some simple pantry items you can easily make a quiche, whip up sandwiches, a pasta dish, etc. using what you have in the fridge! Add Flowers to Your Setting:
As mentioned, using what you have in your stash is an easy way to dress up your table – don’t stress about it not being the beautiful easter theme you hoped for! Ordering flowers from your local florist is a great addition to your table setting to make it feel themed. I asked The Ruffly Rose (based in Denver) for a pastel color palette. I love how it turned out! You can also forage around your neighborhood for any spring blooms that might be popping out – just make sure to ask your neighbors before you cut their flowers!
Invite ‘Virtual’ Guests:
This is the new thing right now and I actually find it so fun – especially to see friends and family that do not live in the same state as we do. Zoom, FaceTime and Houseparty are all apps that we have had success with. Just because you are enjoying Easter virtually doesn’t mean you still cant set your table and whip up lunch! The best part, you get to stay in your cozy clothes while drinking your favorite 90+Cellars wine.
