If this last year has taught us anything it’s to slow down!
There is so much more to life then rushing around trying to do it all! That has been my hope of this blog for you dear reader, to share simple ways you can be The Every Hostess. That being said, as we head into another pandemic holiday season I encourage you to slow down, work on being present and don’t fuss about making everything perfect for the holidays. Throwing together simple entertaining ideas so you can be present with your guests, family or loved ones is what it is all about! That being said, these thanksgiving hosting tips are my favorite.
I hate feeling full right before a fabulous meal filled with all the best things. It’s the worst when you don’t get to at least try everything because you cannot fit in another bite. One thing I avoid when putting together thanksgiving day plans is appetizers. It’s SUCH a big meal, there is no reason it fill everyone’s tummy’s with MORE food. But, obviously people are going to be peckish throughout the day so, my solution is the serve the apps for lunch! Specifically a cheese board to keep it so simple for you.
I will put together a large cheese board of all of the fixings and put it out well in advance before dinner as “lunch”. This also takes the load off of having to feed everyone another meal that day! If a cheese board isn’t enough “lunch” then add one or two other apps to the spread! This way, you’re covering the people that are hungry before dinner, filling them up with a delicious lunch and choosing something simple to serve!
My other tip to go with this is to put out said “lunch” apps over by the couch! Everyone enviably hangs out in the kitchen and sometimes if they aren’t helping out, they might end up being more unhelpful lingering around the kitchen haha. So, put the cheese board over on your coffee table to keep everyone munching in another area and occupied so you can focus on cooking!
Happy entertaining!
