Last weekend we re-stained our deck and it has me so excited for summer.
As you may have seen from instagram, we began a second home renovation project almost two years ago which is very close to being complete! Jeremy still has quite the punch list, but the main living area and our primary bedroom floor are all complete and I cannot wait to share final photos. Last weekend we decided to tackle one of those punch list items which was sanding and re-staining the main deck. It was a lot of work (for Jeremy, ha) but it made such a difference! I focused on re-painting this table (which unfortunately if you leave it uncovered during the winter season(s) will be something you have to do) as well as hosing off our patio cushions. I’m obsessed with how simple this project was yet turned out so beautiful. Now I’m very ready to sit out on the deck all summer while dreaming about summer entertaining must-haves!
That being said, I have all things summer entertaining on my mind so wanted to round up summer entertaining must-haves for you. I’m feeling the neutral colors this summer. It gives such a beautiful, chic and simple vibe to your summer table setting.

This bud vase is something you probably have seen on my IG feed quite a bit. I have 4 of them! They make for such an easy centerpiece to throw together – especially with just greenery!
If you haven’t heard of Grace Rose Farm, now you have! It’s my go to source for ordering flowers. Their roses are to die for! I usually order two bunches for a table setting for 6.
A wine cooler is a summer entertaining must-have, especially if you are entertaining outside. This also makes for the perfect hostessing gift!
A table runner goes such a long way for a simple addition to your summer table setting. I love this classic frayed one – it’s another timeless piece to add to your table setting collection that will be used all year round.
Jeremy actually sent me a photo of this cooler when he was at Home Depot last weekend and I begged him to grab it – now I have to go back for it… But I just love the convenience of a rolling cooler like this for an outdoor party. Plus, you can use the top surface to put out a jar with straws and a little cutting board and lemons / limes for people to add to their drink!
Melamine plates are a must for outdoor entertaining – especially if you are hosting a picnic! I love these gorgeous neutral ones.
These were just too cute to not add to this list! I love a good cocktail stir stick and these ones with hot dogs on top are perfect for summer! Plus they make for a fun addition to your summer party!
I mean, is this not the funnest to go cocktail cup you have ever seen. I love having a stash of these cups on hand – especially for making a cocktail to go out on the boat with! It’s such a fun summer party addition!
I have had my eye on this seagrass pitcher and highball glass for awhile now – they make for such a beautiful addition to a summer table setting. Especially when everything else is so simple.
A picnic basket is a must for summer entertaining! Picnics are one of my favorite ways to get together with friends. I have the best memory of going on a picnic for my birthday with two girlfriends who came into town from dallas. We had a bottle of rosé and a meat and cheese spread, we found the perfect shaded spot in Washington Park and gabbed about life!
