…when flowers aren’t readily available!
I loooove flowers for a centerpiece. It’s my favorite look for a table setting. However, the options at the grocery store aren’t always the best – I always take a peek at their selection when I am at the store to see if there is anything good. And, and arrangement from a florist isn’t always the most feasible option especially when you’re throwing together a last minute dinner party. So, my go to for a simple centerpiece when flowers aren’t readily available is creating a candle centerpiece! It’s simple and creates a chic mood – plus it’s something you can easily throw together when you’re hosting last minute.
I put my candles on ceramic trays because these ones tend to drip – FYI. I also am obsessed with these large candles from Floral Society Co.. As I mentioned in my last table setting post, I have been in love with setting the table in the same color scheme as the surrounding trees out the dining room window! For this you can see lots of creams, greens and browns.
On the menu for this particular dinner party was one of my favorite meals we have made in awhile – inspired by lunch Jeremy had on a work trip to Vegas, haha. We started with this copy cat Honor Bar (my favorite in Dallas) trout dip which was insanely good. Disclaimer: her recipe calls for a brand of trout that is $10 a can – she wants you to buy 4, LOL. There’s a cheaper brand at Whole Foods, still around $7/can. But, if you’re making this for 4 people you can cut the recipe in half and serve a small cheese plate as well. For dinner I made homemade three cheese raviolis with a vodka sauce topped with ground spicy Italian sausage, a pear and Gorgonzola salad. So good ya’ll! Comment if you want me to share the recipe – they were made up in my head based off of the restaurant menu from Jeremys lunch.
