Inspiration for Every Occasion

Turkey Bolognese

June 10, 2014 · In: Recipes

DSC_0466Bolognese is one of my FAVORITE dishes of all time. There is something about Italian food, a glass of wine and friends! Any country we visit or even town my parents always want to eat Italian food, I think its in my system now to love it too. It’s an easy and pleasing type of food anyone would like.

If you are looking for a simple but delicious dinner party dish to make try this Turkey Bolognese. Using ground turkey keeps the dish healthy so you can go crazy on the garlic bread!

Ingredients:

  • Ground Turkey Meat (darker is better)
  • 1/2 of an onion
  • 1 jar or Marinara Sauce
  • Spaghetti noodles
  • Minced Garlic
  • Oregano
  • Salt
  • Ground Pepper
  • Basil
  • Olive Oil
  • Grated Parmesan

Directions:

In a sauce pan add 1 tbs of oil and saute the onion until it starts to welt. Add the garlic and sauté for another minute. Add in the turkey meat and cook until it is no longer pink. In the mean time cook your noodles until they are al dente. Add in the marinara sauce to your cooked turkey meat and top with chopped basil. Add in a dash of salt and pepper, as well as a dash or oregano. Keep on low for 10 min (stir frequently).

When your sauce is finished drain your pasta of the water, mix in the sauce and serve! This dish pairs well with a Merlot and of course some cheesy garlic bread. Top each pasta dish with grated parmesan and enjoy!
