A Winter Dinner Party

December 31, 2019 · In: Holiday Entertaining, Menus

The perfect way to celebrate the new year!

Is anyone else very excited for 2020? This has been a whirlwind of a year. From creating new content for the blog for you guys, finally settling into our new house, starting a new venture (that I cannot wait to share!), its been an amazingly non-stop of a year. I was just telling Jeremy I don’t know the last time we had a vacation where we just sat the whole time LOL. I’m so excited for what’s to come in 2020, especially finally sharing with you guys this new venture I have been working on this last year. To end this year with one more blog post for you guys, I’m sharing with ya’ll a winter dinner party!

If you follow my stories on IG I hosted this winter dinner party the other night for some of Jeremy’s old co-workers. I think this is by far my favorite table I have ever done. I also cannot believe this little table could seat 6! I pulled out our patio chairs and covered the seats with faux fur seat pads and small shearling rugs for extra comfort and to give that table a wintery feel!

Along the center of the table I used these white trees along with these bud vases filled with neutral colored dried flowers. Additionally I added small white tea candles and filled the whole area over the neutral table runner with faux snow! I love that this table can be set up easily all winter long.

On the menu I wanted to challenge my culinary skills and serve a ragu, the perfect winter meal. It took about 4 hours to make from prep to cooking, but it really wasn’t too hard to make! I started cooking at 2:30pm and finished everything by 6:30, serving dinner at about 7:30/8:00pm. I spent a few hours (with the help of my husband) making sure the house was clean before I dove into cooking. I also hopped in the shower right before so I only had to throw on makeup and dry my hair at 5:00pm (I gave myself about 30 min to get ready – but, if you have help you could take longer and have them take over finishing out the appetizers before your guests arrive).

On the Menu

Appetizers

Mini Meatballs with a cranberry BBQ Sauce

Baked Brie Prosciutto Rolls

Main

Winter Citrus Salad

Paccheri with Pork Shoulder Ragu (with Burrata instead of goat cheese)

Dessert

Sticky Toffee Pudding with Toffee Sauce
