A Boho Bridal Shower in Evergreen

May 17, 2023 · In: Parties, The Every Bride

I am so excited to share this very special day with ya’ll!

I had the honor of co-hosting a dear friends bridal shower at a beautiful home in the mountains of Evergreen, Colorado. The bride to be is such a special person in my life so it was a no brainer to go a little above an beyond for her table setting. The hostess, the brides sister, and the bride do not like traditional bridal shower – let’s be honest, do any of us anymore? So, it was fun for me to help make the day feel like you were joining us in the mountains for simple, gorgeous lunch to celebrate our bride to be!

This color pallet was so much fun for me to play with – lots of oranges, pinks, yellows and reds. The bride loves dried flowers so I had my florist incorporate them into the arrangements as well as into the bud vases scattered around the table. One of my favorite details were these dried flower bundles I had found to make place cards with which you can order with blank tags to write people’s names in!

For food we served home made salads and catered charcuterie, and sandwiches from a local spot called Mr. Miners – Highly recommend. To continue with the simple hostessing theme we stuck to bottles of white and rosé for the guests to pour from at the leisure along with pitchers of water on the table and of course sparkling water for those not drinking.

Most bridal showers always feel like they need some sort of activity but between you and me, I think focusing on a beautiful lunch is just enough. However, I absolutely loved this idea of build your own dried flower vase for each guest to do! It was such a lovely touch and everyone had so much fun putting theirs together.

Hostessing a bridal shower can rack up a hefty bill – especially if it’s just one hostess. I was thinking about this on my journey helping putting this shower together and wanted to share a few tips of how you can help save!

  1. Use your own plates, glassware and flatware. The other hostess and I collectively had well over 20 plates to use for this, so we were able to save on rental costs. I had a set of 10 pink wine and water glasses so just needed to rent 10 more wine and water glasses to complete the table. I also used my own flatware – yes, I have an extensive collection. But, if you can mix and match with other flatware that works too!
  2. Use your own vases when ordering flowers. I invested in these large vases that you probably have noticed pop up a lot on my table settings! Bringing in your own vases when having a florist do the flowers helps that cost. You can get away with $50-$100 worth of flowers in these vases!
  3. Fold up tables are a lifesaver! I have three large fold up tables that can fit up to 10, sometimes 12 people around. Throw an oversized table cloth over it and you’ve got a gorgeous table!
  4. Simple food goes a long way! I loved that we made homemade salads and had catered sandwiches and charcuterie – it was a hit!
