One of my favorite memories of New Year’s Eve with Jeremy consists of fondue.

We took a trip to Chamonix, France over New Year’s weekend a few years ago and basically ate our way through the beautiful quaint little ski town. It was the most perfect trip consisting of sitting cozy by fires, skiing and indulging on all the fondue! We also were celebrating our engagement, so that made it even better! There is something about fondue and champagne that makes for the perfect combination, like peanut butter and jelly. It also makes for the perfect party idea for New Year’s Eve!

I love nothing more than a cozy night at home. This New Year’s eve we are planning to just do that with a fondue New Year’s Eve Party! This party is so simple to set up and the great for hostessing, especially for a simple cocktail hour style new year’s party. Fondue is such a social food to put out. Everyone can gather around the table and take turns dipping an assortment of diced breads, meats, veggies and more in delicious cheese! Paired with 90+ Cellars Prosecco, a fondue New Year’s Eve Party is such a simple way to host this new year’s eve!

I came across this recipe for three cheese truffle fondue and instantly salivated. Confession, I have never made fondue at home so this was a fun experiment to honestly say with a little bit of patience, it is so easy to make. I highly recommend trying this recipe below!

Three Cheese Truffle Fondue
INGREDIENTS
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour or cornstarch
- 1 cup good dry white wine
- 1.5 cups gruyere cheese (Shred it )
- 1.5 cups fontina cheese (Shred it)
- ½ cup gorgonzola cheese (I found it in crumb form. Worked great.)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- ¼-1/2 tsp black pepper
- Few drops of truffle oil
DIRECTIONS
- Rub insides of your pot with a garlic clove. Add olive oil and heat the pot on a medium-low flame. Add flour and cook stirring constantly. To it add wine and cook for a minute or two until it all mixes together. Add the shredded cheeses slowly few tbsps of each cheese at a time with constant whisking so it melts before you add the next batch of cheese. Make sure the flame is SUPER LOW. Add salt, lemon juice, black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning. Just before serving, add few drops of truffle oil.
- Serve with lots of tasty dippers such as cubed rosemary bread and a French baguette, snap peas, red peppers, sausages, sliced green apples and more!

Set your fondue pot(s) out on your table or countertop along with all the accoutrements for dipping on separate platters. Additionally, set out 90+ Cellars Prosecco chilled in ice buckets or a wine cooler along with champagne glasses so guests can easily pour themselves a glass of 90+ Cellars Prosecco to have while they dip away! Additionally, set out cured meat and a selection of cheese, like this Jasper Hill Farm Cabot Clothbound cheese from the Cheese Grotto!

I absolutely love this fondue pot I found, perfect for a party for up to six people (or more if couples don’t mind sharing!). The skewers are colored to your guests will know which one is theirs for all their dipping needs. This truly is such a simple party to set up and the perfect way to host a simple New Years eve party!
