A Grateful Gathering

November 6, 2019 · In: Thanksgiving Entertaining

The Thanksgiving holiday season is always the best time to get friends together.

This post was sponsored by Evite, all opinions are my own.

While we normally look at this time as gatherings with our family, this is also such a wonderful time to celebrate the friendships we have! And, what better way to do that than with a grateful gathering. Equipped with the perfect colorful fall table setting, a delicious spread, and good friends – this gathering is the perfect way to celebrate how grateful you are to have certain people in your life. I recently hosted this grateful gathering with my mom, husband and two of our close friends as a way to share just that. The table setting was so much fun to create with a few simple steps!

The Invite:

Evite provides such an amazing array of email invitations that makes hosting any party so much easier. It’s one less thing you have to worry about when hostessing, plus your whole guest list is available online and you can share more details with your guests. I love this friendsgiving invitation for this grateful gathering! It perfectly ties in the pink featured in the table setting!

Setting the Table:

When putting your grateful gathering table setting together there are a few key items you need! First and foremost, I absolutely love this blush and rust color palette for a friendsgiving table – something a little less traditional for fall. Blush plates, paired with these rust colored napkins give your table setting a feminine fall feel. I chose copper flatware along with copper taper candle holders to tie it all in. A charger is a great modern replacement to a placemat or table cloth! (Tableware from Cloth + Gold)

The Centerpiece:

While I love a big gorgeous centerpiece for a table setting, this friendsgiving celebration called for simple bud vases (a mix of large and small) down the center. This allows for more table space for the food spread! Add clusters of votive candle holders along with taper candle holders throughout to give the centerpiece more body.

The Spread:

For this meal we chose to cook a traditional spread, with a slight twist! Turkey with focaccia chorizo stuffing, truffle mac and cheese and roasted brussels sprouts and butternut squash salad. For any friendsgiving celebration its important to mix it up since most people will be having a traditional meal when they are with their families. If a lot of your guests will be having turkey later on (mine weren’t, that’s why we had one), then you could serve a baked ham, roasted chicken or a meat dish instead! The point is creating a meal large enough to feed a crowd!

Feeling Grateful:

At each place setting I set out these “I am thankful for” printables with each guests name on them. You can also print them out blank to allow for your guests to fill them in themselves. I love this touch because it gives everyone an opportunity to write what they are grateful for. These “Give thanks” cards are another fun touch to bringing the gratefulness together into the table setting.

This is a beautiful spread and idea. Where do we find the gratitude printables? Thanks!
