Cozy dinner parties in January are my favorite.
The thing about living in the Denver area is that our winter technically doesn’t start until January. The most snow usually comes January through March, sometimes April, sometimes even May. ESPECIALLY at the Golden Tree House… Where we are living now up on a mountain above Denver gets the most snow this time of year. While it can be exhausting having to shovel our way out of our house, the snow that covers the trees surrounding us is so magical!
I absolutely love having friends over during said magical time of year. It’s special to me to have them see the snow covered trees, cozy in my home with fabulous cocktails and delicious meals! My first dinner party since the holidays was a cozy night in with two of our friends, which usually ends up turning into playing late night board games and even having a dance party!
For the table setting
…I chose to encompass the colors of the surrounding nature that you see outside of our dining window – greens, neutrals and of course whites from the snow. I love these new napkins I picked up from this adorable shop in Montana along with these gorgeous leather napkin rings!
On the Menu
I’ve been wanting to make dumplings, there’s something cozy about them in the winter time. So for appetizers I started with dumplings – which were so fun to make together with Jeremy in our Our Place pan! We smoked Gochujang marinated BBQ ribs which were SO delicious. The bbq sauce was incredible, I ended up using the leftover to marinate chicken thighs for another dinner. On the side were drunken spaghetti squash noodles from this cookbook and a smashed cucumber salad from Alison Roman’s Nothing Fancy cookbook. Lastly we served Thyme 75 cocktails which paired perfectly with this Asian feast!
Cheers!
