Thanks to Nicole Fisher of Akasha, you never have to leave your home for a waxing appointment again. I was a little hesitant when Nicole first reached out to me about her business. Me being, well me, I was still very intrigued by how she could help solidify my “lazy” lifestyle (at home mani / pedi’s with Pretty ‘Round the City and I just hired a maid. Lazy. haha). The more I thought about it, getting in your car to make your waxing appointment is somewhat of a burden. It’s just another thing you have to drive to in your day. So me being The Every Hostess, I had to throw a little waxing party and try out Nicole’s services. I only did an eyebrow wax (I wasn’t about to show you all my lady parts!), and let me tell you, it was so wonderful. In the comfort of your own home being able to get ready for the night, have a glass of rosè and get your brows waxed. Seriously what is better then that??

Tell me a little bit about your business? How did you get started?

Akasha is a luxury portable salon. We come to your home or office. We offer full body waxing (specializing in bikini/Brazlians for women), facials and much more to come.We use a top quality hard wax, never re-dip, or re use wax. Akasha also does parties and weddings.

Hard wax vs. stripes? What do you prefer and why?

I prefer hard wax over soft wax. It is a lot easier on your skin and less painful.

At home pampering has become so popular! What do you do to make sure your clients feel comfortable having you in their home?

The convenience and professionalism of this company is noticed as soon as you make an appointment. You will feel totally comfortable with our easy in and out set up and service.

How often do you recommend people getting waxed?

I recommend getting waxed every four to six weeks, depending on the person and your needs. Facials are good to get every change of the seasons. This helps you get a nice boost, some knowledge according to the season and motivation to keep your skin looking great.

For first timers, is there anything you recommend to avoid pain when waxing?

For first timers: let your hair grow for about two weeks, take an advil about 30 mins before coming, or drink some wine! Don’t worry about growing your hair out that long either. Once you start waxing your hair growth will be a lot less and more sparse.

Favorite beauty product for your skin right now?

My favorite beauty product at the moment is coconut oil, not too fancy or expensive. Oils are amazing for any skin type too.
