For the bourbon lover.
The Kentucky Derby is such a prestigious event in the south. A two-minute long horse race where people bet enormous amounts of money on a horse they have no idea if it will win, while indulging on enormous amounts of alcohol (Mint Juleps to be exact). essentially, it’s a giant party in the south! Mint Juleps are a traditional drink for derby go-ers, but this year for your derby enjoyment try something new!
Still a traditional southern drink, equip with bourbon this derby inspired cocktail will be sure to make you feel like you are at the races!
(Recipe inspired by True Food Kitchen)
Ingredients:
- Bourbon of your choice
- Black tea
- Honey
- Lemon (for garnish)
Directions:
Brew the black tea and mix in 1 tbsp of honey into the tea. Let cool in the refrigerator for a few hours. Pour into a glass two parts bourbon and fill the rest of the cup with the black tea. Add ice and garnish with a peel of lemon. Stir and enjoy!
