I am a sucker for date night.
I love any excuse to go out for a date night. Jeremy LOVES his video game time :( so I made a deal with him that one night a week he owes me a date night – my choice of course! Here, are some of our favorite spots in Denver to go for a date night.
FIVE DATE NIGHT SPOTS IN DENVER
Hillstone – As a Dallas girl, I am obsessed with Hillstone (formally known as Houston’s, which I still call it that!). It’s your neighborhood fancy American food kind of place – steaks, yummy salads and delicious spinich dip. My mom and I used to go to the one in Dallas every Wednesday while my dad played tennis. We would sit at the bar and enjoy our spinich dip (while usually getting hit on by local business men!). Since moving to Denver I was ecstatic to find out there was a Hillstone here! I typically make Jeremy eat there once a week, usually take out. But going there for a date night is always so fun too! There is something homey about the low lighting, neighborhood feel to the place. We always start off with dirty martinis at the bar while we wait for our table, then enjoy a bottle of wine while Jeremy has the French Dip and I have the Chicken Salad. SO SO good ya’ll!
The Village Cork – This is one of my all time favorite wine bars in Denver! I stumbled across it randomly when we first moved to Denver while we were driving around lost with Jeremys parents. I had no idea where it was after I saw it (S. Pearl Street) but I knew I had to go back. They have a small menu but you can’t go wrong with anything on it. My favorite things to order are the charcuterie board, the baked brie with roasted garlic (melts in your mouth!) and the mac and cheese. I know, I know, it’s a cheese overload. Paired with an awesome bottle of their red blend though, you’ll be in heaven I promise!
The Greenwood Village Landmark – Ahh this place. Possibly THE best movie theater in the city. First off, you are able to choose between regular and VIP tickets which range from $13 – $16. With any ticket you get access to unlimited popcorn and soda – but I highly recommend buying VIP tickets. You get to sit in big lounge chairs and are waited on by the staff who will bring you your popcorn, sodas and a list of delcious food and cocktails. Yes I said it, cocktails. There is a full bar in the movie theater so you can enjoy a cocktail or bottle of wine while watching the movie! And did I mention the chicken fingers?? Possibly the best chicken fingers I have ever had…
North – Jeremy and I are lovers of itallian food. We have been to so many different itallian places and finally found our favorite one – North! We love ordering a bunch of small plates to share or each getting a pasta – I highly recommend the bolognese! Their wine list is small but they have some good choices. Such a perfect date spot :)
Izakya Den – Now, if you are from Denver you know there is a bit of a competition with sushi places here. I am not being biased in any way, I really love so many places here. But, Izakaya Den is in our neighborhood so it is easy to get to. I really only like two rolls on the menu (I am a little bit of a picky sushi eater!), but they have so many good small plates that are perfect to share. We love sake too and have probably tried every bottle there – Snow on the Mountain is out top favorite! Oh! And order the Crispy Tuna – its a spicy tuna pizza. To die for.
