Say what?? At Home Mani’s?

There is no better way to spend valentines day than with your girlfriends! I always loved the idea of Galantines day – from the ever so enthusiastic Leslie Knope. For those of you who may be unfamiliar, Galantines day is celebrated the day before valentines day (February 13th) and is way for you to gather all your best girlfriends together and celebrate each other! What better way to do that than have a mani party at home! Complete with treats and fun cocktails, gather your girlfriends for a pre-valentines pampering session. Whether they have a hot valentines date or no plans at all, getting pampered and spending time with your friends is the perfect way to kick off this fun holiday.

For treats I chose heart cookies and chocolate covered strawberries along with a bowl full of assorted pink gummy bears. Keeping the menu simple but still fun allows for you to be able to munch on treats while your nails are drying. Cocktails included a pink lemonade cocktail along with rose! I kept with a girly pink theme throughout the party because what is more girly than getting your nails done with your girlfriends! The company in Denver who provided the at home mani service is called Pretty ‘Round the City. They provide at “pop-up” manicures, pedicures and eyelash extensions all over the city – whether it is at your house or office, they will be there! They use gel or Vinylux nail polish so your nails are able to dry fast and last long. They also are very quick when doing each mani – under 25 minutes per person so your gals don’t have to wait around to get theirs done for very long. I love this idea of at home pampering, it is more convenient and so much more fun!

How did you get your start in the beauty industry and what led you and your sisters to start Pretty ‘Round the City?

Combined we have 25 years of experience in the beauty industry. We love what we do, and it has been a passion we’ve shared since an early age. We decided to launch Pretty ‘Round the City when we realized it was up to us to be the change in the industry that people have been waiting for!

Tell us a little bit about what Pretty ‘Round the city is and what is offers?

Pretty ‘Round the City is Denver’s premier pop-up beauty provider. We offer on location, on demand, pop-up beauty services. Currently, our main focus is manicures and pedicures, as well as eyelash extensions. We are working hard to expand our menu so stay tuned for some exciting announcements!

You work with your two sisters – what is it like owning a business with family and avoiding family drama at work and at home?

We each have our own unique element to contribute to the business. It is important to have balance when there are ideas coming in from all directions and that is something we are always working on. The best part of owning a business as sisters: at the end of the day we are still family – no matter what! As far as avoiding the drama, we keep asking ourselves why we don’t have our own reality show…yet!

Pretty ‘Round the City uses shellac and Vinylux nail polishes – what makes these polishes better than regular polish? Is there any long term harm to your nails using these polishes.

We have lots of experience with the products we use and we value a company that stands behind the product they create. We chose to work with CND Shellac and Vinylux because we want our clients to experience the same quality we would personally expect. There is no long term harm caused by using these products, just don’t peel off that gel polish, ladies!
