As our renovation progress continues, I am so excited to be able to decorate every room!

Prior to owning our home, we were always living in rental properties. I adored the rental property we were in before our new home, however there were a lot of things I didn’t love. (Most of my previous posts were in that rental and the cream walls drove me nuts!) When it came to décor in the rentals we were in it always felt like a hodgepodge of stuff from college, some new pieces we were collecting, and hand-me-downs. When we moved out of our last rental I made an effort to donate and sell the things that had no meaning to us or that I knew would not fit in the new house. Surprisingly there were a lot of art pieces to get rid of! They were all random pieces we both had in our college houses, that truly did not fit our style now. It feels so good to start new, especially thanks to Minted Art Products!

Designing our guest room is one area I am most excited about. I love hosting guests, as you know, so this room is going to be nothing short from a cozy space for guests to enjoy our home (even if it’s a friend staying over for the night). Since we are starting fresh there are a few pieces that we need for this room, one being art. In our last guest room we always traded out random pieces of art or would just have no art in the room (it was a true hodgepodge of a guest room). It feels like we are completely upgrading our guest room by choosing new art to be in there and I teamed up with Minted to do just that!

As you have seen from my previous post on our home renovation, the color scheme we are striving for is white, gold, black and pops of color. For our guest room, I wanted the space to feel cozy, inviting, yet still modern. And, the perfect spot for family and friends to have Denver getaway! I instantly fell in love with the Tour de Force I and Tour de Force II art piece by Carmen Guedez from Minted. It’s a modern piece and framed with a matte black metal frame, it gave it such a sleek look. Winston loves it just as much too!

These pieces really stuck out to me not only because it of their modern design, but I loved that they have so much personality, like Jeremy and I! They are also the perfect masculine yet feminine pieces that both Jeremy and I loved equally. Plus, they will be the perfect pop in this room! I plan to have them hung over a black dresser in the guest room (I can’t wait to show y’all the final room!). Everything else in the room is very warm and neutral as you can see below from our mood board. I love the bed we are getting to go along with our hotel style sheets that have a black satin stitch. I’m still up in the air in regards to the lamps, but am kind of loving these ones that tie in the beige in the bed! Comment below and tell me what you think!
I cannot wait to see these two pieces from Minted in our guest room and to create the perfect space for our guests. Check back for another post on the final space and updated tips on hosting overnight guests!
