Hosting a Spring Brunch

March 29, 2021 · In: Parties, Spring Entertaining

As the weather starts to get warmer here I am getting so excited for all things spring!

It’s been awhile! As you might have seen from Instagram, I launched a startup called WIPEYS in March of last year! It’s been a whirlwind of a year to say the least and unfortunately majority of my focus has been on WIPEYS instead of the blog. Learning to balance a startup, while also renovating another home (Oh! Did I forget to mention that too haha. I can’t wait to share!) sharing party ideas have had to sit on the back burner. BUT, we are back baby! The house is almost complete and the main level is entertaining ready! That being said, I hosted my first gathering with pod friends last month and am so excited to share!

I think there is nothing more fun (and easy) than hosting a spring brunch. Brunch to me is fun different flavors where you can serve a ton of different options along with the important part, delicious wine! My friends at Flat Top Hills Wines gifted me some bottles of their Rosé, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc to serve at this brunch! It was the perfect pairing to the spread I created for all of the ladies. I loved that this brunch felt intimate and cozy in our new space – that is what hosting a spring brunch is all about!

Flat Top Hills is a premium collection of vineyard-driven wines from the “G4,” or fourth generation of the iconic C. Mondavi family, whose roots in California winemaking date back nearly 100 years. Building on a legacy that includes some of the most storied wines and regions of California, Flat Top Hills is family- owned and draws from family-farmed vineyards. Together, G4 consulting winemaker Angelina Mondavi and head winemaker Randy Herron developed the line with an eye to approachability and uncompromising quality.

For the decor I stuck with a neutral color pallet – white blooms with greenery! Our main living space is very chic with whites, cream and wood tones so hosting a spring brunch here I wanted to keep within this chic color pallet. Simple blooms are always the way to go when choosing decor for a brunch! I set the food spread out on our kitchen island for guests to graze at while sipping on their wine. With this open concept guests were able to make a plate then get cozy on the couch!

For the bar area I set out the selection of bottles from Flat Top Hills along with wine glasses on a wooden tray. This way, guests can see the options of what to drink. Decorated with bud vases of white florals! I like to keep the bottles chilled in the fridge right up until guests arrive while still keeping back up bottles of chilled wine!

For the food menu I stuck with light flavors of spring while also individualizing each food item to keep social distancing in mind when brunching. Individual pear and spinach salads in these cute little cups, individual mini bagel and lox, and the hit of the party – individual herbed goat cheese toasts with strawberries, were some of the food items served! Have fun with the mini foods, it’s so fun to make and an easy way to keep guests from sharing the same serving utensils.
