Salute to Our Troops!

Happy three day weekend!

Memorial Day weekend is here! Whether you are heading out of town or staying home for the weekend it’s time to celebrate our beautiful country and our freedom! What a wonderful holiday to honor our troops! On top of that, it’s a three-day weekend!

If you are planning on hosting a Memorial Day BBQ, keep your table set up simple. This holiday can clash with Fourth of July’s red white and blue theme so try to make the two different. Pick two colors to be the strong point of the palate and have the third color pop throughout the table. That way for your Fourth of July party you can elaborate on all three colors and make it more American themed. For my table set up I chose white and blue as my main colors and then added pops of red throughout.

When cooking food for you Memorial Day party think of a classy BBQ theme. Make steaks or barbecue chicken with a fresh salad filled with peaches and any side you may choose. Keep the hot dogs, hamburgers and ribs for the fourth. For dessert serve something with lots of summer flavors! Of course the final touch to your BBQ is a beautiful centerpiece. Ladybird Poppy has outdone herself again with this gorgeous flower arrangement!
