I love the idea of pre dinner cocktails. When it comes to thinking about what to drink pre-turkey dinner my favorite cocktail to make is sangria.

Most likely because it brings up a fond memory of thanksgiving with our family friends from Mexico City. They made sangria for us to enjoy before dinner years ago which was a family recipe of theirs. It was so delicious and refreshing before a big meal! This sangria recipe is low cal too, so you won’t be spoiling your calorie intake for the rest of the day.

Ingredients
- 1 bottle of a dry red wine (a cab sav. is a good choice!)
- 2 cups Sprite Zero
- an array of fruits (I chose cranberries, apples, oranges and strawberries)
- 1 cup non flavored vodka
Directions
Slice the fruits to your liking. Fill a pitcher with ice, add the entire bottle of one, 1 cup or vodka and 2 cups sprite zero. Stir well and leave in the fridge for up to four hours.
