My skin care routine.
Living in Colorado the weather can be very harsh on my skin. I came from Dallas where it was much more humid and I never had to deal with dry skin issues. Aside from that, I also suffer from sensitive skin so I break out SO easily. When it came to finding the perfect skin care routine living in Colorado, frequently visiting humid areas and having a fiancé with a beard (I’ll get to that later!), it took some time but I think I have perfected it. I get a little weird about trying new products in fear that my skin is going to break out, so if you have things that work for you I suggest you try to introduce one or two into your routine slowly so you don’t overwhelm your skin and continue to stick to the ones that do work. These are the products that I use every night (I personally choose to only wash my face at night, it just works for me), but you can incorporate some of these into your morning routine.
- Chanel Eye makeup Remover – I have been using this for probably over ten years now. My mom and I both use it and we swear by it. It’s so nice on your eyes and removes any mascara so easily. Just squirt a little on a cotton pad and make sure to wipe towards your eye in a circular motion to prevent wrinkles.
- Obagi Gentle Cleanser – This is another product I have used forever and I swear by it too. I was introduced to Obagi in High School when I was dealing with some serious acne issues. My skin immediately cleared up the moment I started using it. I now only use the cleanser which is so gentle on your skin and removes all your makeup. It also is acne preventative so best of both worlds.
- Kate Somerville ExfoliKate – Exfoliators recently came into my skin care routine. Like I had mentioned before, my fiancé has a beard and since my skin is so sensitive anytime we kiss I immediately break out. (He doesn’t believe me, but it’s a thing!). So since I deal with breakouts I have found that an exfoliator helps to clean out the skin and prevent them. It is great to use after you cleaned off all your makeup with your cleanser.
- La Mer Moisturizing Cream – Ok, I know this product is outrageously expensive… but let me tell you, it is worth it. I bought the 1 oz. jar and have managed to use it for over six months now. I just use a dollop every night and sometimes in the morning before I put on makeup. It’s very gentle on your skin and doesn’t cause breakouts.
- Eminence Clear Skin Willow Bark Booster-Serum – Serums are something that are also very new to my routine. I feel like they recently just got popular too, no? Well, my facialist recommended this one to me when I dealt with a terrible ch-acne (chin acne) situation a couple summers ago. This serum is so good at preventing any breakouts from coming along.
- Eminence Red Current Balancing Concentrate – This is another product my facialist introduced to me. For people who get any redness from leftover acne or pimples this product is great. I put it on after I put on the serum.
- CLINIQUE All About Eyes Eye Cream – Until I was introduced to this eye cream I had some serious puffy eyes and dark circles when I would wake up in the morning. You could always tell when I was tiered. This eye cream is wonderful for those with the same problem. It’s light-weight and great to put on every night and morning.
- Kate Sommerville EradiKate Mask – Sometimes I question if this mask is a miracle worker. If I have any breakout coming on I use this after I wash my face before I put on the other products. You put it on for ten minutes and I kid you not you feel like it clears everything up. Keep using it nightly until your “situation’ has disappeared.
- Kate Somerville EradiKate – For those of you looking for a blemish treatment I love this product! No pimple is going to go away over night but it does dry it out and help speed up the process.
