It’s almost time for a Friday night cocktail hour!
This post was sponsored by Foster Farms. All opinions are my own.
For this weeks Friday night cocktail hour, I thought something a little more casual would be a fun idea! We’ve been traveling and hosting friends the past two months and finally have a weekend at home with nothing planned. It feels so good! I am counting down the hours until we can binge watch our new favorite show, The Umbrella Academy, on Netflix, cozy up with a cocktail and snacks! This snack board featuring Foster Farms Bold Bites, could not be more perfect for a weekend night like this! Equipped with spicy margaritas (my all time favorite cocktail!), fun little snacks, along with Foster Farms Bold Bites and dipping sauce, this Friday night cocktail hour is so easy to set up!

For the snack board you need a few key things! An array of veggies along with other little snack foods such as Chex mix and popcorn. I also added cornichons to the board, they are my favorite! Foster Farms has so many delicious flavors of Bold Bites, a personal favorite being Cajun Style! Select a few different flavors so there is an array. This gives your snack board a yummy protein addition. Have dipping sauces available such as ranch and hot sauce! You could also provide honey mustard or ground mustard!

Put the popcorn and any other little snacks in small bowls so you can easily take that to your seat to munch on. Additionally, have plates and cocktail napkins out!

For the spicy margarita cocktail, this is such an easy recipe to make! I suggest you make the simple syrup ahead of time so it’s one less thing to worry about. Add pink Himalayan salt on the rim of each glass to cut the spice!

Spicy Margarita
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup jalapeño simple syrup
- 1 cup Reposado tequila (We love, love Casamigos!
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- ice
- sliced jalapeño for garnish (leave the seeds for extra spice!)
- Pink Himalayan salt for the rim!
For the jalapeño simple syrup –
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 jalapeno (sliced length wise)
DIRECTIONS
For the jalapeño simple syrup –
- Combine sugar and water in medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir until sugar dissolves (liquid will ‘clear up’)
- Add sliced jalapeno (don’t touch your eyes after touching jalapenos!) bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low. Cook (keeping a watchful eye!) for 12 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain syrup carefully (it’s probably still hot) and cool completely. I put mine in mason jars, but any airtight container will work. Will keep for approx. 2 weeks in refrigerator.
To make the margarita –
In a pitcher, combine 1/2 cup jalapeño simple syrup, 1 cup tequila and 1 cup fresh lime juice. Mix, add ice and sliced jalapeños and pour into individual glasses!
