Blood Orange Mojito

Who is ready to head to the beach?

With winter storms pretty much hitting all over the east and now in Colorado, I have been craving some beach time! The countdown begins to head back to Mexico for some sunshine and mojitos! I love the idea of making a beachy cocktail into a winter feel though, because you should always be able to drink beach cocktails no matter what the weather is outside! Since blood oranges are in season right now I though a blood orange mojito would be the perfect beach pick me up that still has a winter feel.

Ingredients:

  • Mint Leaves
  • 1 – 2 Blood Oranges
  • Rum
  • Sparkling Water
  • Stevia Sweetner

Directions:

Squeeze the blood oranges using a juicer to get 1/2 cup of the juice. Muddle mint leaves in the bottom of your cup and add ice. Pour 1.5 parts rum over the ice and muddled mint leaves, add the orange juice. Top with sparkling water and mix in the stevia to get a bit of a sweeter taste.

This looks delicious- I’m definitely going to hold onto this recipe! I love blood oranges and how dynamic their flavor is, so I’m really looking forward to trying this out. Thanks!
