Hosting a S’mores Night

August 26, 2019 · In: Cocktail Hour, Fall Entertaining, Parties, Summer Entertaining

A chocolate filled evening!

This post was sponsored by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, all opinions are my own.

As summer is coming to and end, the perfect way to throw one last soiree is by hosting a s’mores night! My adorable friend Taelor (of Taebur) and I hosted a little s’mores night by the fire in my backyard a few weeks ago. It was such a perfect way to spend a summer evening. This would also make for such a lovely way to get friends together this fall! The main event was this amazing s’mores dessert board we put together equipped with Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory chocolates to build you s’more with! We also had a signature “campfire” cocktail which was the perfect addition to go along with delicious Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory s’mores!

Set the scene with cozy chairs, pillows and additionally blankets in case it’s cooler at night. Colorful flowers and candles create the perfect ambiance. Make sure to have a good spot near the fire on a chaise or side table for your s’mores dessert board for easy access for your guests throughout the evening. I love this setting we had in my backyard! Additionally, have napkins out just in case anyone had sticky fingers!

To build a s’more dessert board you just need a few essential goodies – an assortment of RMCF chocolate, graham crackers, marshmallows and strawberries for garnish. We especially loved the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Covered Graham Crackers to make a s’mores with – talk about the ultimate s’more! Check out more s’more recipe ideas over at Taebur. Pick out a large board – this could be a large white serving dish, wooden cutting board or marble board. Start by laying out the chocolate around the board in groupings of what each are, add the graham crackers and garnish with strawberries for a pop of color! You can also use The Campfire Collection from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for your s’mores party. The box even has chocolate covered Oreo’s in it! Set your dessert board out by a cozy fire along with roasting sticks! Don’t have a fire pit? I love this table top mini fire pit as an option!

Build your perfect s’more by having your preferred chocolate and graham cracker ready to go once your marshmallow is done on the fire. I don’t know about ya’ll but my go to marshmallow cooking method is sticking it into direct heat to char it (haha)!

Campfire Cocktail Recipe

This cocktail is so easy to make and the perfect addition to hosting a s’mores night! The best part – the rim of the cocktail is made with melted Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory chocolate!

This recipe was inspired by Jacquelyn from Lark & Linen, and can be made in a few simple steps.

Campfire Cocktail

Serves: 1

*To make more just increase the amounts to create the desired amounts you would like.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 oz Vodka
  • 2 oz Irish cream
  • 2 oz Milk (we used almond milk!)
  • Ice
  • 1 toasted marshmallow

For the rim:

  • 1 tbs graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 tbs melted RMCF milk chocolate
  • 1/2 tbsp. butter

DIRECTIONS

To melt the chocolate:

In a sauce pan head 1-2 inches of water and place a glass, heat proof bowl on top. Once the water is boiling, add the chocolate and butter and stir until melted. Rim each glass immediately in the melted chocolate and dip immediately in graham cracker crumbs.

For the cocktail:

1. Fill your cocktail shaker with ice, toss in the vodka and bailey’s and shake vigorously (the longer the better. It should be FREEZING cold and well agitated).

2. Place 2-3 ice cubes in your glass, pour liquor mixture overtop, fill the rest of the glass with milk, top with toasted marshmallow and enjoy!
