Etiquette 101.
When hosting a dinner party or brunch the number one thing to remember is to properly set the table. So many hostess’s make little mistakes when doing the place settings, but we have a few rules for you to remember so your table is always perfect.1. Forks always on the left, they are never placed with anything else so you automatically can remember knives and spoons go on the right.
2. For bread and drink (this applies any where you are) take your pointer finger and touch it to your thumb keeping your other fingers straight. Your left hand makes a B and your right hand make a D — B for Bread, D for Drink. A simple way to remember bread is on the left and drinks are on the right.
3. Always keep your small silverware at the top of the plate because that is what you will use last for dessert and coffee.
4. Lastly, remember you are working your way in from the outside of the setting, so think what you will eat first (salad or soup?). This should be the first silverware for guests to be able to grab.
A beautiful place setting shows you truly are the hostess with the mostess!

I love this – thank you!
