How to Feel Like You’re ‘Glamping’ While Camping

August 7, 2019 · In: Parties, Summer Entertaining

What I love about living in Colorado is access to the outdoors.

This post was sponsored by 90+ Cellars, all opinions are my own.

There is always a reason to play outside! The mountains are about an hour drive from the city of Denver (if that) with endless activities to do! One of my favorite activities to do during the summer is camping. Admittedly, I have only been “real” camping two times, but both times I throughly enjoyed it! Now, don’t get me wrong, I would much prefer being in one of the lux glamping tents you have seen me post about, but camping really isn’t THAT bad! The key is making sure you bring all the right stuff to make your time in the woods feel a little more like “glamping”! I always make sure to have all my beauty products, extra water bottles for washing my face, makeup removing wipes, cozy socks to wear only in the tent to keep it clean (never allow shoes in your tent!), and a great bed set up equipped with a cozy duvet and pillows on an air-mattress. Oh! And Rosé of course, you gotta have your bottle of 90+ Cellars rosé for by the campfire and to enjoy during your glamping inspired dinner party! If you’re new to camping and weary about it – trust me, if I enjoy it, you will. My top tip to Feel Like You’re ‘Glamping’ While Camping is to set a lux feeling table setting for one of your meals. This can be achieved with a few simple steps (and packing an extra bag of table wares!).

For your table setting in order to achieve feeling like you’re glamping while camping there are just a few simple things you need to pack in an extra bag. Enamel or plastic plates, reusable cups (for bottles of 90 + Cellars Rosé of the Rockies), a small vase for wildflowers (or flowers you bring – we will touch on that in a bit), fixings for a delicious cheese and charcuterie spread, a plastic wine bucket, napkins (can be paper if you need to set this up for more than one meal), and flatware.

First when you arrive to the campsite, start gathering wild flowers or pretty plants around you. If you know you will be in an area that might not have wildflowers growing (I found this when we were camping in the high dessert), you can easily bring your own. Stay away from flowers that don’t like the heat – such as hydrangea. At home, cut the ends, secure in a ziplock baggie filled with water and wrap your bunch with a rubber band. Store in your cooler (or in a vase carefully set in your car) until you get to the camping site.

For your table setting – all the supplies can easily be washed after use to be reused again for another meal during your camping stay. One great tip I learned from my mother in law was bringing a small tub and dish soap to wash plates in after use! That way you can reset the table for another meal to still feel like you are glamping. For this setting I additionally brought woven chargers to dress up my table a bit!

The perfect pairing to your glamping style cheese and charcuterie spread while camping in Colorado? 90 + Cellars Rosé of the Rockies! This wine is the second annual collaboration between 90+ Cellars and 5280. The label artwork was created by Pat Milbery and Pat McKinney of the So-Gnar Creative Division, who are local Denver street artists, designers and Colorado creatives, who brighten up and positively connect Colorado communities through their vibrant wall art. A portion of the proceeds from this wine will support the Visit Denver Foundation, and its mission designed to support undergraduate students pursuing degrees in the hospitality and tourism industry. I love the idea of bringing a Colorado themed wine on a Colorado camping trip! Set on the table, store the wine on ice in the champagne bucket you brought to keep it cool to enjoy during your meal.
